Catering FAQ
Comal Next Door Catering offers catering for large group gatherings of all shapes and sizes through both CND Berkeley and CND Oakland.
Please read through the FAQ below before placing a catering order.
Is there a minimum arrange amount?
There is no minimum amount for catering pick-up or delivery orders. Delivery orders have delivery fees (fees are based on location). See below for more info.
Is advance notice required?
Yes. All catering orders must be placed at least 24 hours in advance - extra-large orders may demand more lead time. If you need a last-minute order, please email us and we will do our best to fulfill the order.
Does Comal Next Door Catering offer order delivery?
In most cases, yes. Comal Catering can provide delivery to nearby East Bay cities & SF. Delivery Fees are based on explore distance and range from $50-$100.
What times do you offer delivery?

Bar Comal - enjoy the CNDO menu (and rotating weekly specials) with cocktails, beer and wine from 5-8:30pm Tues-Fri and from 11am-8:30pm Sat-Sun (brunch from 11am-3pm Sat/Sun) - Full bar, dining room and partially covered, heated sidewalk seating.

About
Comal Next Door is a growing group of traditional Mexican taquerias with locations in Berkeley and Oakland. Comal opened in Downtown Berkeley in 2012. A few years later, when our next door neighbor Phil’s Sliders decided to close up shop, we jumped at the chance to open an all-day taqueria – a sidekick to the original mothership.

Comal adds a fast-casual taqueria option to adjoining space.
Since it debuted in 2012, Comal has been perennially packed—a restaurant both critically acclaimed and publicly adored. The Berkeley restaurant was among the first in the Bay Area to serve Mexican fare with the same zeal for local ingredients as other farm-to-table restaurants.
What’s most unfortunate about Comal is how tough it is to get a table and how it’s not open for lunch. That’s partially why owners Andrew Hoffman and John Paluska, along with executive chef Matt Gandin, launched Comal Next Door, an all-day sidekick that sits next door to the original restaurant. Open since April, it’s a breezy, easygoing spot with speedy service, takeout-friendly dishes, and reasonable prices.
When I first heard about Comal Next Door, I expected a fancy, flourish-filled take on a taqueria. But the result is actually stripped-down, humble, and often traditional in flavors. In other words, Comal’s version of a taqueria is a surprisingly familiar one.
