Today is The End of an Era For Destiny 2
Now is a delicate moment for Destiny 2, as it transitions from the last weeks of The Final Shape to a whole new model and direction for the game with The Edge of Fate, which is about to be released in just over three weeks on July 15. The Edge of Fate entirely changes Destiny 2 and how it's played, based on everything revealed so far, but some staples are going to stay. One of them is the Iron Banner activity, but it stays with an asterisk attached.
Destiny 2's Iron Banner is a loved and simultaneously hated PvP activity thanks to the many changes it went through, issues with matchmaking, FOMO loot, and some problematic game modes. Still, it's more often than not very much worth farming thanks to good PvP loot, with the occasional breakout PvE rolls that make the population play it more consistently for a week or two. However, today marks the end of an era for Iron Banner, with the activity going away tomorrow at reset for the remainder of The Final Shape and staying gone for a few months.

It has been a divisive 2024 for the Destiny 2 community. Not everyone is in love with the current state of the game, and it does feel as though the year is ending on a bit whimper with problems for the dawning event. When is the next Iron Banner event in Destiny 2?
Iron Banner is next appearing for two weeks in the middle of Episode: Revenant’s third act, between Tuesday, Jan. 14., and Tuesday, Jan. 28, starting and ending at the usual weekly reset time.
This will be the final Iron Banner for Revenant. If you miss it, you’ll need to wait until a few weeks after Episode: Heresy launches on Feb. 4
