Next thing looking forward to

Look forward to

Look forward to something means to be pleased or excited that it is going to happen. The ‘to’ in look forward to is a preposition, so we must follow it by a noun phrase or a verb in the -ing form:

I’m looking forward to the holidays.

A:

Are you excited about your trip to South America?

B:

Yes, I’mlooking forward toit.

We’re looking forward to going to Switzerland next month.

Not: … looking forward to go to Switzerland …

If the second verb has a different subject, we use the object form of the pronoun, not the subject form:

We’re looking forward to him arriving next week.

Not: We’re looking forward to he arriving next week.

We also use look forward to at the end of formal letters and formal emails to say that we hope to hear from someone or expect that something will happen. We use the present simple form:

I look forward to your reply.

I look forward to hearing from you soon.

We look forward to receiving payment for the services detailed above.

What Are You Looking Forward To?

Life

It’s a fairly self-explanatory question: what’s coming up in the near or faraway future that you’re excited about?

I’ll start. In the short-term, I’m looking forward to getting home from another long trip. It’s been fun, beautiful, thrilling, and exhausting. I live on the edges and sometimes they catch up to me. But that’s OK, because I’ll be happy to do it again soon.

In the medium-term, I’m looking forward to completing everything for my book manuscript. I recently wrapped up draft #3 and sent it to my friendly editor in New York. Now I’ll do another draft and some line-edits before wrapping up and moving to the next phase. I’m extremely excited about planning the launch, another book tour, and everything associated with it.

In the long-term, I’m looking forward to continued learning. I feel like I have grown and learned a lot recently, but there’s so much I still want to learn and experience. I believe there is a connection between living and learning: if we fail to learn, we aren’t truly living. Therefore, I want to keep learning and challeng

12 Things I’m Looking Forward To Over The Next 12 Months

1. Experiencing new places and seeing new things. Only a few days into the New Year, I have a few, set plans to travel to cities I’ve never been to before. These trips will be spent exploring new places and enjoying new adventures with people closest to me. And, I hope to gain new insight into this world we live in through each trip.

2. Achieving a personal best in my second marathon. I have already promised myself that I will give everything it takes during my training, so that, come race day, my performance is at its best. And, pushing myself to destroy my 2012 time is what it’s all about. It may be difficult; it may be painful; but it will most definitely be worth it.

3. Strengthening the relationships I currently have, and opening up to new ones. I’ve made some really great connections, both personally and professionally, and I want to see them continue to grow. These are people important to me, and I intend to put more effort in reaching out, nurturing, and investing time in deepening these relationships. And I look forward to those whom I have yet to meet.

4. Making time for family. I appreciate everythin

10 Things I’m Most Looking Forward to This Year

I think I wrote a list of things I was looking forward to at the start of 2020. And well, we all know how that turned out.

So I’m back to write another list of things that I’m looking forward to as I imagine 2024 is going to be quite the year.

It’s going to be an unpredictable year to say the least with a lot of exciting things that I’m in the middle of planning. I hate to be one of those very vague people that say ‘watch this space’, but really, watch this space, as 2024 is going to be one hell of a ride and I’ll be taking you along with me.

Well, mostly on my other channels, but I’ll keep the blog updated as always!

1. More travel

I think this one goes without saying. 2023 was a great year of travel with 2022 being just as good. I have fully contracted the travel bug and I’m hoping to see more of the world in 2024, ticking off another (hopefully) five or more new places.

I’m always vlogging our travels so I can look back on these in the future, but you can see our 2023 trips to New York, Las Vegas, Norway, Marrakech, Krakow, Amsterdam, and our road trip across the East Coast of Americ
